Jeff and I have been teaching several spotter classes around the region
over the last couple of months. With continued interest, we have
scheduled a basic online spotter course in the hope of reaching more
people that have been unable to attend classes in person. This class is
scheduled for Tuesday, June 21st at 7 pm ET (6 pm CT). This class will
cover basic spotter topics, like thunderstorm components, basic weather
terminology, weather safety, and even touch on important hurricane season
basics. This training should last around 90 minutes.
If you have individuals within your organization or community that would
be interested in attending, please invite them to attend this class. The
class is taught through our Go To Meeting system. You can register for
the course here:
If folks have any questions about the online spotter class, please have
them contact either me or Jeff.
Also, if you would like to host a class at your EOC or other community
location, please contact us as well so we can set up an in-person class.
