2012 TARC Tailgate now an ARRL Sanctioned Event!

Are you looking to buy some additional radio gear or sell some of what you already have?

The 2012 TARC Tailgate Hamfest will take place on Saturday, March 31st, at Morningside Methodist Church. The event will start at 7am.

And new this year, the event will be ARRL sanctioned, so stop by and see our Section Manager, Gene, W4AYK, at the ARRL booth.

There is no admission charge and vendor participation is also free. TARC will have an antenna trailer with both HF and VHF/UHF antennas set up with 12-volt power available for you to try out the gear before you buy.

Tailgate style hamfests are good for finding nice used gear at bargain prices. In addition, there will be items from two different estates on display for purchase.

We’ve also moved our monthly Test Session to this event and it will take place in the church’s Social Hall at 10am. The fee for testing is $14 and walk-ins are welcome. Nothing like upgrading your license and then buying a radio to put it to use…right?

There will be several ARRL Gift certificates as door prizes, and all you need is to sign in and get a ticket to be part of the drawing.  Additional tickets will be $1 each.

For more information, contact us at w4ucj@arrl.net

We look forward to seeing YOU there!!

  1. Let’s make this the Dalton of South Georgia. One that hams look forward to each year. This can be done with your participation. The Thomasville Club is very active and is growing and getting more young people into amateur radio. Help support their efforts. See you there. Ken Elsberry WD4ERM

  2. Ken makes a good comment here. We should all work to making this a great event for everyone in the area. It should be OUR hamfest!
