We are sorry to have to cancel the upcoming classes due to the untimely death this week of Mike Brown, KE4FGF, our club president. Mike played a huge role in the class presentations and VE sessions and out of respect for him and his family and friends we will be rescheduling the classes later this year.
TARC will be hosting February upgrade classes on the final two Saturdays, the 15th and 22nd.
We’ll be teaching all three license classes, Tech, General, and Extra. The classes are FREE and run from 9am-4pm, with test sessions following both classes. We’ll be in the classrooms at Archbold Memorial Hospital, in the basement of the east wing.
Study materials are available online and the sites are available on the left sidebar of this website under “license class resources” http://thomasvilleamateurradioclub.com/license-class-resources/
We teach from the ARRL Q&A manuals and we can get them for you at a reduced rate of $15. The full blown manuals are also available at $25. You’ll need to contact Mike at email@example.com to order one. The deadline for ordering is Monday, February 3rd.
We suggest you bring a notebook and calculator, plus we’ll have handouts for you.
We break for lunch at noon, and you have the options of going out or eating at the hospital cafeteria. We also typically pool our money and order in pizza (the kids love that!) and eat in the classroom.
We keep the classes as user-friendly as possible so that the whole family can enjoy them and not feel intimidated by the material.
If you’re going to take a class, let Mike know so he can add you to the list. Again, his contact is firstname.lastname@example.org or simply call at 229-226-5060.
We look forward to helping you get started in Amateur Radio…see YOU and the family on the 15th!!
