The GREAT SOUTHERN HAMFEST is a multi-club sponsored event coming to Thomasville, Georgia on March 18, 2017 and is hosted by the Thomasville Amateur Radio Club. The TARC event was originally a small tailgate affair held in the parking lot of a local church. Having outgrown that location, the hamfest went looking for a suitable venue where parking and building size would not be an issue. After several months of looking and negotiations, the Exchange Club Fairgrounds became the location of choice. The parking area is huge therefore; parking will not be of concern. In addition, there is adequate handicap access and shuttle rides will be available to and from the main buildings. The event will have a little of something for everyone. Amateur Radio is the main focus but PREPPING and MAKEing are also on the list of things to see and do. Don’t ask what is there to do in mid-March, join us at the GREAT SOUTHERN HAMFEST where we learn about amateur radio happenings. Here is where we participate in amateur radio related activities and then we go share those experiences with others.
